PRODUCT: Bick 4
I've used Bickmore products (mainly Bick 4) for many years on saddles, tack, boots and shoes - I have found it to be a great product for ease of use as it doesn't have to be rubbed in, doesn't have to be removed, it's just as simple as rub on and leave it. Within the last couple years, I started using Bick 1 on tack - I had a well-used piece of tack, complete with lots of horse sweat left on it given to me. I used the Bick 1 to clean it - it didn't take much and it was VERY easy to do - then followed up with the Bick 4 - it's good as new! Don't forget to promote the use of these products to Motorcycle enthusiasts as well. Once or twice a year I gather all my leather, including my bike leathers, and I condition them all with Bick 4 - it keeps them soft, supple and maintains their value for a long time. Now that I've visited the Bickmore website and I see all the other great stuff Bickmore offers, I'll be trying some of the other stuff too - and I can't wait to start using Bick 5!

We
first purchased Bick 4 when we bought cowboy boots at Corral West. We were so impressed with it, we bought as much as they had everytime we went to the store. When Corral West went out of business in Boise and Nampa Idaho, the Boise store was sold out of product, so we drove 35 miles in the winter to the Nampa store and bought every 8oz bottle they had. We use Bick 4 on all our leather stuff, boots, furniture, coats, gloves, motorcycle seats, vehicle seats. We have anoline dyed leather which soaks up any and everything. Bick 4 is especially good on this leather because it won't darken it, leaves the leather soft, and does not attract dirt, a BIG plus for motorcycle and vehicle seats. The leather absorbs it and leaves it soft and supple, and it does not leave a residue. Our 'stockpile' of Bick 4 is starting to run low, so I contacted Bickmore to find a dealer. Because if you have leather, you gotta have Bick!
Thank you for a wonderful product - do they make a 5 gallon size??

Hello,
I recently discovered your "Bick 4" in a Cavender's Boot & Western Wear store in Midland, Texas - This product is AMAZING! I wish I would have known about this years ago. I've tried every product imaginable, and have been completely unsatisfied for over 20 years. Other products smell like rotten gasoline, don't soak in the leather at all, or attract dirt, sweat, and body oils to produce a nasty funk. Not Bick 4! I have used it on every leather application I can think of, with amazing results! Thank you for such a fine product in a world full of junk and empty promises!
Sincerely,

Dear Betsy,
Just spoke on the phone about your fabulous products for saddles, bridles and all leather. I just ordered the product.
I was born and raised in Virginia- next to Meadow Farm- home of Secretariat. My dad had Thoroughbred Hunters and Jumpers. I married a marine and had to live here- western country with “Cowboy Mentality”.
Since I am almost 70 years old, have had open heart surgery then 1 month later fell on ceramic tile floor, broke my right hip and shattered the bone to the knee- I now have a titanium hip and leg. We have a Norwegian Fjord, but bending my hip joint to mount a western saddle- is so very painful.
My husband and our friend went to an estate sale last weekend. My husband bought a Stubben forward seat saddle for $60.00. What a deal! Thankfully, no cowboy would’ve walked out of an auction with an English saddle. The best saddle maker and repair man is 100 miles away. I took the saddle in to him to see. Her verified it was a Stubben (about 20 years old but well cared for).
I was going into town to get some saddle soap and oil. I stopped to show it to my friend Mary, who owns Leather Legends. She said to take this Bick 1 and Bick 4 home and try it. I could not believe my eyes. This is without question, the best product I have ever used.
I immediately ordered some. Living as a kid in a stable with 40 T.B’s, you can believe me when I say I’ve cleaned literally, 1000’s of saddles. This is the best product I’ve ever used- bar none.
Sincerely,
B.B.L Montana
PRODUCT: Bick 1 & Bick 4
In short, your stuff seriously rocks!" (see photos below!)
I have only ever been compelled to write a couple other companies to tell them how much I liked their products, but I wanted tell you how impressed I am with your Bickmore leather care line.
I first purchased a travel size kit of Bick 1 leather cleaner and Bick 4 leather conditioner from my local feed store, mostly because I thought the retro-inspired labeling was irresistible. I was in the process of disassembling an old Bona Allen saddle I intended to
restore, and thought I'd give your products a whirl. Previously, I used Farnam's Leather New and Neatsfoot oil as my standbys, but they weren't without their drawbacks and shortcomings. At any rate, the old saddle I acquired was more than 40 years old, filthy, grimy; and had only been oiled over the years by previous owners, but never truly cleaned. The oiling had only succeeded in darkening the leather and embedding years and years of sweat and filth, so cleaning the layers of sludge was more like a forensic excavation.
I used a small, very soft, children's toothbrush and your Bick 1 cleaner to clean every crack and crevice of the saddle, which was no small undertaking. (This really is the only way to clean those old hand tooled beauties.) I'd scrub up a mountain of filth and sludge, and thoroughly rinse off each section with a spray bottle of water. This took several nights, but did clean the leather absolutely. The old leather did stiffen somewhat when the water dried, but it was clean down to its core. Next, I went over the entire saddle, section by section, with the Bick 4 conditioner. I was amazed how the leather once more became soft and supple when the Bick 4 was absorbed. I could bend the skirts and fenders without any cracking. I also did the undersides of the fenders and skirts with Bick 4 to condition them from both sides. Normally, I would have cleaned them and neatsfoot-oiled from the undersides, but I've had mixed results doing so. Particularly with old saddles, the oil will be absorbed so quickly you end up with uneven dark spots that show from the top side and never truly disappear. I found that several applications of the Bick 4 conditioner absorbed completely, and didn't leave any discoloration whatsoever. On the few really abused spots that seemed insatiably 'thirsty' I did use warm virgin olive oil from the underside, but was pleasantly surprised to find by first priming the leather with a couple applications of the Bick 4 conditioner, I got a very even absorption of the oil, and no undesirable darkness coming through the top side of the leather. I then went back over with a final application of Bick4 to 'seal' the areas I'd oiled.
Needless to say, the travel kit wasn't enough to complete the job, but I was so pleased with the results once I started, I had gone back to the feed store and bought full size bottles to finish the project. At that point, I was hooked.
From time to time I pick up an old classic saddle, here and there, and most of them need some form of restoration. It seems they're all either too dry and have never been cleaned, or have only been oiled, but never cleaned. The system I used with that first old Bona Allen has proven successful every time to bring them back to their former glory. I also use the Bick 1/Bick 4 system on my good show tack, and haven't been disappointed. So many people are terrified of darkening their light finished leather they n-e-v-e-r clean it. You will see $15k show saddles that haven't been cleaned or conditioned since the day their credit card was run, and the best thing the owners can offer is, "Yeah, but see how light it still is?" I'm happy to say I've used your products on my light finished leather with no visible darkening. Sure, when it's wet with product, it will appear darker, but never fails to lighten back up as soon as it's dry. All it takes after cleaning and conditioning is a buff with a soft old towel to give a nice, low, realistic luster. Unlike topical products like Saddle Lac, the leather is actually cleaned and conditioned, and unlike popular quick cleaners like Leather New, there is no residual soapiness to collect dirt in your fine tooling.
I just picked up an old classic off Craigslist, which is what reminded me, 'Hey - I need to tell those Bickmore peeps how great their stuff is.' Yes, I rescued another neglected saddle that has obviously never been cleaned or oiled since it came off the production line about 30 years ago. While the leather is still light and almost no wear, it's dry as a bone, would surely crack if stressed, and desperately needs conditioning. Simply saturating with oil would completely ruin it, and saddle soap would only add a layer of sludge. A good cleaning with Bick 1 and conditioning with Bick 4 already has it clean and supple, and looking brand new. I can now bend the skirts and fenders without fear of cracking or damage, and the leather is still the same beautiful light color as before I started.
I know I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to leather care, and my penchant for funky old saddles probably isn't shared by many, but your products are a staple in my toolkit. I know for a fact I couldn't achieve the same results with other products - because I've tried them all. I'm so sold on Bick 1 and Bick 4, I even bought it for my mom for her tack.
In short, your stuff seriously rocks.

(PS - Here are some 'after' photos of the first saddle I used your products
on.
You can see all the once-filthy
tooling is grime-free, and how the restored leather glows. The
difference is unbelievable.)
PRODUCT: Bick 5
I like the product almost better than the original. It’s lighter and for cleaning everyday, I think it’s great… For me, I would use it to do the everyday clean ups on tack. When you really need to condition after getting soaked in the rain or something like that, I would use the original (Bick 4) or on tack that was really dry.

Bick 5 is a hit! We both really like the new “weight” of the liquid. It’s thinner so it soaks up faster and dries faster. So it did require a few applications on my “hungry” saddle.

PRODUCT: Antiseptic Powder
The Bickmore Antiseptic Powder in the 4oz. bottle is easy to hold and "puff" out the powder to a clean wound. (Some horses don't care for an aerosol spray can sound, so the "puffing" of powder to the wound is quick and you don't put pressure on that tender spot.)
It is an excellent treatment on low leg injuries to fend off excessive "proud flesh" build up. What remains is nominal scarring with hair re-growth 90% of the time or better.
It works well for thrush infected feet, along with a controlled moisture environment. A pasty mixture to the infected area and a bootie or vet wrap the hoof. It was changed every other day, if the foot area is not damp.
I highly recommend this product. It is reasonable in cost and it definitely works... I buy it by the case! A great gift to your horse friends!

PRODUCT: Gall Salve
I just wanted to let you know how much I love your Gall Salve Wound Cream. I train horses and have yet to find a cinch that will work well with all horses and not gall. I cannot afford to have a horse out of work for 2 to 3 weeks for a cinch gall to heal properly before I use them again only to go through it again. I started using your salve after my Dad recommended it and it is amazing. I can continue to work a young horse and instead of weeks of healing time, it is only a matter of days and I can continue to work them and get the training finished. I just apply it to the gall before and after I ride and it is completely healed within just a few days. I love your products. You definitely have a lifetime shopper in me.
