Because We Care

Leather is expensive, therefore it is understandable that people want to protect their investment. With proper care, leather goods should endure for many years. Without it, even the finest leather can be forever ruined.

Leather Care
We have created the Bickmore line to ensure the longevity of your leather goods. They will protect your investment and extend the life of your leather. As leather goods are worn, many of the essential oils added by the tanners wear away. Without care, drying, cracking and/or hardening of the leather will occur. Consistent and long-term care is essential to the longevity of your leather goods.

In Addition To Regular Care...

  • Always use shoetrees and boot trees.
  • Allow all leather items to dry naturally and slowly.
  • Remove all salt stains as soon as possible.
  • Avoid excess heat, moisture and dryness to prevent mildew growth and cracking.
  • Never use products made for smooth leather on suede, nubuck, roughout or Apache leathers.
  • Never use household chemicals such as alcohol, turpentine or mineral spirits to clean leather.
  • Mink oil or other animal fats can darken leather and turn rancid, causing stitching and leather to rot.
